The International Journal of Political Theory is published by Emertec Research and Development, a research organization that conducts theoretical research in both natural and social sciences. All members, especially the founders, have extensive academic research experience in several disciplines, and have previous experience contributing to, editing, and even founding other academic journals.

Jaan S. Islam is the Vice President of the Global Organization for Faith, Wisdom, and Peace based in Toronto, Canada. His research interests cut broadly across political philosophy, comparative religion, contemporary history, metaphysics, and cognitive science. His previous works include True Islam, Jihad, and Terrorism: The Science of Islamic Foreign Policy (NY: Nova Publishers, 2016) and his most recent book entitled Political Philosophy in the East and West: In Search of Truth (Delaware: Vernon Press, 2017).

His research focuses on the environmental crisis and how human society might transition their laws, governance structures and social relations in relation to health and integrity of the planet. He conducts research in legal theory and political philosophy. His recent works include Exploring Wild Law: The Philosophy of Earth Jurisprudence (Wakefield Press, 2011) and several journal articles.
